Drug and alcohol abuse result in an imbalance of a person’s ability to feel pleasure, satisfaction and a sense of well-being. Physical exercise releases endorphins that create a natural high. We help residents establish a consistent routine of physical activity that results in experiencing deep satisfaction. Regular physical trainingallows your body to

  • regulate its own chemistry and mood
  • improve sleep
  • increase energy
  • experience feelings of accomplishment, pride and self-worth

The Came to Pass Recovery fitness program is implemented within supportive communities. Crossfit Flagstaff and Team Run Flagstaff are two communities that have deep roots in Flagstaff. The CrossFit approach utilizes constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. All Crossfit workouts are based on functional movements, and these movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more. The community that arises when people do these workouts together is a key component of why Crossfit is so effective, and it gave birth to a global network of Crossfit affiliates that number over 13,000. Harnessing the natural camaraderie, competition and fun of sport or game yields an intensity that cannot be matched by other means. Crossfit Flagstaff just celebrated its ten-year anniversary and is a well established affiliate within the larger global CrossFit community.

Team Run Flagstaff began in 2006 as a community running program affiliated with the Center for High Altitude Training, which was an Olympic Training Site. This community running organization opens the running experience to people of all ability levels and interests. Through organized training, expert coaching, and educational workshops, the group cultivates an atmosphere that allows elite runners and beginners to share the same track, pursuing individual goals with a sense of camaraderie. Members share their love of fitness, health, and sport with group runs, cross training, track workouts, social events, races, and educational offerings that cover everything from trail safety to nutrition.

These two entities are the foundation of Came to Pass fitness programming. Come join us and experience being part of this vibrant community – Came to Pass Sober Recovery is dedicated to developing a strong support system that allows for healthy relationships and adventures.
